Tools for Self-Kindness: Taming Your Inner Bully

Tired of the constant chatter of judgment in your head? You know that voice—the one that tells you what you should have or could have done and what is wrong with you. The voice that makes you unhappy.

What would it be like to know deep down inside that the roar of disapproval is just a habit you learned a long time ago and that it often tells you lies and things that aren’t very useful? What would it be like to talk back?

Self-Kindness is the willingness to be kind to ourselves and treat ourselves with respect in all areas of our lives. As Rick Hanson says, “To be on our own side.” This class is designed to help you develop the tools to undo the destructive habit of self-criticism and create new habits of self-care and self-encouragement.

In this class, you will learn to:

  • Observe the judging mind without believing the stories
  • Use kindness to change your inner dialogue
  • Meet and manage difficult emotions
  • Rewire your brain with loving-kindness meditation
  • Transform your inner bully into your inner coach

Class Details

  • This class consists of five weekly sessions.
  • Tuition includes app-based access to meditation audio files, digital downloads, and the course handbook through MetaFi, plus all upgraded features of MetaFi.

If the concepts of mindfulness or self-kindness are new for you, or you haven't taken a course with us yet, we highly encourage you to attend our free 1-hour class, A Taste of Self-Kindness, on Wednesday, August 4. You'll have an opportunity to learn more about self-kindness, try out a practice, and determine if this upcoming class is right for you!
